Lately I am more active on YouTube. I made a commitment to produce one new video every week. And I am having a lot of fun with this. Because I like to produce those kind of things. Not many people know that in my previous life I had a broadcasting career. And my father was a broadcast journalist so I think I got from him this I would call microphone ease. It’s in my blood 😉
So many people freeze in front of microphone, and for me it feels naturally to talk to someone I don’t know or see. The video was, still is, a little more challenging, but I feel quite natural in front of camera as well. So this whole YouTube adventure of growing my channel has been challenging but so much fun. And I love, really love editing. Most people hate it and treat it as a necessary evel, for me it is like a reward 🙂
My latest video is without my face – this time it is a glimpse behind my easel. I take you on a fast-paced, time-lapse journey as I paint one of my hard edge triangle pieces. Many people have asked me how I create these artworks, so I thought it would be fun to give you a peek behind the scenes. Not only are these time-lapse videos enjoyable to watch, but they also offer a unique perspective on the creative process.
For this particular piece, I’m working on a special birthday gift for my best friend Halina, who lives in Poland. She adores various shades of violet, blue, turquoise, and red. I love those colors too, but it’s been a bit of a challenge because she doesn’t want any yellow or green in the painting and I never realized how much a splash of yellow adds to my paintings. But I’m up for the task and excited to see the end result.
In the video, you’ll see the first few hours of painting compressed into just three minutes. Now is already two weeks later and I lost finished the piece now. At some point, I’ll release a time-lapse video showing the entire painting process of this piece from start to finish.
As I continue to work on this special gift, I’m reminded how important it is to stay true to oneself while also being open to new challenges and creative opportunities. Painting without my usual yellow and green tones has been a valuable learning experience for me, and I hope you enjoy watching the process as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
Thank you for your support, and stay tuned for the full time-lapse video of the entire painting process, coming soon.
